Art Compass (artcompass.co.uk) was a website live from 2014 to 2017 which enabled artists to promote artworks physically on display in public places around the city of Edinburgh, UK. Art buyers could find out the location of art on display so that they could view in person and buy.
The site used the following:
- PHP v5.5
- Yii PHP framework v1.1
- JavaScript / JQuery for AJAX calls and DOM manipulation
- MySQL for data persistence
- CSS
- Bootstrap 2 front-end framework
- Google Place API to allow users to easily add locations
- Google Maps API to view locations
Masonry.js manages content layout
Details of specific artworks are served with data from the MySQL database, and Google Places API
